About Off Grid Hackz
Off Grid Hackz is a one-person project run by Stine Grytøyr through Norsk Webservice, a sole proprietorship based in Norway.
The site grew out of a personal interest in nature, outdoor life and practical survival strategies. The goal is simple: collect field-tested hacks and guides that help ordinary people become more self-reliant — whether they are camping for the weekend, building a cabin setup, or preparing for an unexpected emergency.
What you will find here
- Practical guides for fire, water, shelter, food, power, bushcraft and survival gear — written to be useful in the field.
- Honest gear recommendations with clear affiliate links, so you can invest in the right equipment without wasting money.
- A Norwegian perspective on preparedness: long winters, remote cabins, power outages and the everyday skills that make them manageable.
Every article is researched, written and maintained by hand. The fictional host Tom Woods is used as a narrative device to make the guides easier to follow — but the techniques, tools and safety advice are real.
Off Grid Hackz is independent. Sponsored placements and affiliate links are always clearly marked, and they never influence which products are recommended or how a technique is explained.
